A lighter flywheel will reduce the rotational mass on your
crankshaft allowing your engine to rev up more quickly. Fidanza
lightweight flywheels are made from 6061 T6 aluminum for strength
and great weight savings over the stock flywheel. The friction
surface is 1050 high carbon alloy steel which allows the use
of about any clutch material. |
A lighweight flywheel is one of the greatest mods you can make for
your turbo third generation Supra! The reduction in rotational mass
allows the engine to work easier, which results in quicker turbo
spool up and the build up of low-end power is released!! What does
that mean in real life? It means you will rev quicker, put less
stress on the crank and crank seal assembly, spool that turbo sooner,
build boost quicker and gain low-end power (from 14-18hp gains)!!

The last flywheel you will ever have to buy. The patented
segmented heat shield design will not warp like other common
one piece heat shields. All RPS CYN-R-G flywheels are highly
engineered with these benefits like dynamically balanced,
crushed Heli coil inserts, stepped dowel pins, and over-sized
lock-down bolts that are welded to the ring gear for positive
retention.
Normal flywheels are subject to warping because of the uneven
heat produced by a slipping clutch. Since the clutch disc
spins faster along the edges of the flywheel it gets hotter
than the inside. Obviously, heat makes metal expand so the
outer edges may warp. The segmented heat shield system eliminates
that potential and is even fully rebuildable making it the
last flywheel you'll ever need to buy.

NOTE: This flywheel is designed to be used with a '90-'93 MR2 Turbo
clutch disc for better performance.
